Post Race Recovery

I have yet to put together any words that can describe Sunday's experience, so I'm going to save that post for a couple of days. Possibly when I have caught up on sleep, my stomach and muscles have returned to normal and the shock of this entire experience has subsided, I will be able to find the words.....

For now, all I can say is a HUGE thank you to all of our supporters, starting with the loudest, brightest and most encouraging 2 out on the course Stacey & Carrie. Seeing those two as well as Dave, Big J, Little J, Frankie, Stronger, Erin, Bailey, all of the parents and grandparents and even some of my high school friends made getting through each loop on the course so much easier.

We also met a couple of fellow bloggers here (nytro and ironbenny), and even got to spend some time out on the course with ironbenny.

Our entire team is on the way to the airport right now, but S & I are here for one more night. It's so quiet in the house right now, I'm thinking I might finally get some rest! It seems almost surreal that this huge life changing event is complete. I won't say over, because... well, that seems like I would be closing the door on it all, and I'm not quite ready for that.

Congratulations on a terrific race. In looking at the bike splits of you and Momo you were both seemed to be rocking and spot in concerning an even ride.

Congratulations once again and I trust you enjoyed being back in the old stomping grounds.

Great Time!!
How did you like the bike? I think that it was such a beautiful and scenic ride. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it...maybe not the hills as much on the second loop, but it was fun.

Just read a bunch of your "old"posts about CDA and viewed your slide shows...so glad you are going to be there again next year! Congratulations...13:00 is just super for an IM time!

It's been a while! I started this blog/journal to document training adventures for my first Ironman in 2007. It was a fun adventure and *back then* blogging was the social media of today. Happy Birthday to me.....

NO I'm not 30 QUITE yet..... BUT, I already got my first birthday present....:-) You all know I love me some RED. Kinda like SHE loves her some Pink. Except, I don't have to wear it every day. My bike isn't red (although it would be so cool if it were). I do however have: a red wall kitchen red (black & white) dishes a new red phone sassy red shoes a red wallet but... the one thing I've been waiting for.... a NEW RED HANDBAG ! I've been checking this site obsessively for a new season of RED to come out. And wouldn't you know.. the new season is here, and it was FULL OF RED. And, not the flashy fire red , but the pretty dark deep red that I love.... And then.. wouldn't you know it... a couple days after said find, I get a preferred customer coupon in the mail for 25% off.... If only the timing weren't so bad. All about the SHOES

Well, I'm pretty sure that title grabbed a few of my fellow shoe whores :-) Unfortunately, this isn't a post about some really cool new shoes , or boots I purchased, or received... or even HAVE for that matter. Boo hoo. I would love me some new shoes though. Something about fall and cute new pumps that go perfect with Jeans. You know, for all those time I shower, and actually blow dry my hair.... and try to remember how to put make on and all. Whatever, you get the point. No cute new shoes. Blah. Bet Shane read the title and thought I ordered myself something online... again :-) Anyway, this post is about RUNNING shoes. Boring, I know.. but, probably one of the single most important things to being a successful, injury free runner (you know, cause I'm all of that and all - ha!).... I've been thru it all.
