Post Race Recovery

I have yet to put together any words that can describe Sunday's experience, so I'm going to save that post for a couple of days. Possibly when I have caught up on sleep, my stomach and muscles have returned to normal and the shock of this entire experience has subsided, I will be able to find the words.....

For now, all I can say is a HUGE thank you to all of our supporters, starting with the loudest, brightest and most encouraging 2 out on the course Stacey & Carrie. Seeing those two as well as Dave, Big J, Little J, Frankie, Stronger, Erin, Bailey, all of the parents and grandparents and even some of my high school friends made getting through each loop on the course so much easier.

We also met a couple of fellow bloggers here (nytro and ironbenny), and even got to spend some time out on the course with ironbenny.

Our entire team is on the way to the airport right now, but S & I are here for one more night. It's so quiet in the house right now, I'm thinking I might finally get some rest! It seems almost surreal that this huge life changing event is complete. I won't say over, because... well, that seems like I would be closing the door on it all, and I'm not quite ready for that.

Congratulations on a terrific race. In looking at the bike splits of you and Momo you were both seemed to be rocking and spot in concerning an even ride.

Congratulations once again and I trust you enjoyed being back in the old stomping grounds.

Great Time!!
How did you like the bike? I think that it was such a beautiful and scenic ride. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it...maybe not the hills as much on the second loop, but it was fun.

Just read a bunch of your "old"posts about CDA and viewed your slide shows...so glad you are going to be there again next year! Congratulations...13:00 is just super for an IM time!

It's been two months since Ironman CDA. The last Ironman CDA. It was a late registration for me.  After a couple stressful and busy years, I wasn't sure if I wanted to tackle another long event or take the year off. It's been a while! I started this blog/journal to document training adventures for my first Ironman in 2007. It was a fun adventure and *back then* blogging was the social media of today. It connected me with so many special people that I met and continue to keep in contact with (albeit, not enough). Life got busy, training was more of a lifestyle then a new adventure and sharing my daily with the world became just, well irrelevant. While so much has changed since my last post, there is still a lot of the same. My love for swimming, biking and running, dogs and wine is still there, but my desire to keep pushing and find new boundaries has definitely faded. Coeur d'Alene Scenic Challenge

Relays are FUN. Seriously... no stress, just show up & do your part! I've done one relay before, in Mexico - I totally forgot how much fun they can be. The CDA triathlon is something I found on line a LONG time ago. I don't even know why I was looking at races in this area, because we had not started our plans to come here for the summer yet. Anyhow - I looked it up for this summer, and if happened to fall the week after Troika, what was supposed to be our 'A' race.... Had I only known..... So, still not wanting to give up on the race, I put out an "Ad" on Facebook looking for someone to join Shane & I for a team. My only thing - I was going to swim.
