New Look

So a few days ago I posted about my hair turning darker. I've been contemplating a "new look." I've always had blonde hair. And, always had blondER highlights. As the years have gone on the roots keep on getting darker. And, now that I'm home for work, and IM training, and well.. just plain old lazy, I don't like the upkeep. It's super $$$$, time consuming, and if not done every 8-10 weeks (which it NEVER is) it looks horid.

So.. I've got a wild hair up my you know what. I'm thinking RED. Not flashy red like my boots or my purse... But a dark/brown red. I have made an appt with my hair gal for next Thursday. We will check out my roots and see if it is possible... and possible without high maintenance up keep.

So, I've been searching for some pics to bring to her. This morning I found these new celebrity pics posted of Ashley Simpson's new do. It is EXACTLY what I'm looking for (color). So - I will wait and see if my OK magazine that should be delivered today or Monday has this pic in it, or I'll go to the store & flip through the pages until I find it, then bring it in with me on Thursday.

If all else fails, I will just end up a darker shade of blonde. We will see!

I think you and I are on the same page with the hair. I tried some red in the late summer and hated how they faded... I'd say definitely go try some wigs on before going full plunge! ;) Can't wait to see what you decide to do!

Krista, go for it, its just hair and you can always go back. Hey maybe you should do 3 colors like me!! HAHA! I was always a blonde and decided to go dark w/blonde highlights about 5 yrs ago and now its a dark blonde w/dark brown highlights ~ see you can do just whatever. Hey Melisa, how do pink highlights sound??

K- if your stylist adds a "cinnamon" /red hinted dark brown (1part) to a medium copper red (2 part) you should get depth and great coverage for blonde hair.(like the picture) It'll keep the pink out and the brown helps the red hold on longer. Red does fade faster than any color but with good maintenance you can get some gorgeous results. Use a tinted shampoo for keeping the color fresher longer

She looks so much better with that color than she did with dark brunette or blond. Have fun with your makeover! I just chopped my hair into a bob this week.

Oops, here I go again stumbling onto a girly girl blog.

BTW, that color red makes me weak in the knees. If it has that effect on the rest of your competition (triathlon speaking)...GO FOR IT!

This is where we differ slightly! I am out on all the hair stuff. I want low maintenance (that includes style and color). If I didn't have to re-color it, I might consider it but it is just to expensive and too much work. I can't wait to see what your new do looks like! Good luck.

If the new do makes you look like her, come see me. I may leave me wife for you.

(I'm totally kidding - I don't want you to think that I'm that creepy married guy that keeps hitting on other bloggers. I'm just saying: Ashley Simpson = Yum.)
