This is how we roll south of the border......

So... we celebrated Shane's b-day at our house in Rocky Point.... It was Natalie, Jeff, Baby Kate, Shane, me & Baxter.... The momo clan couldn't make it due to some sick kids... and we only took Baxter to make it a little less chaotic......



We had a great time.... Kate was entertaining and a doll! She woke up every morning saying "Bubba, Buba"... She LUVES her Baxter.... Hopefully his good behavior helped convince her dad she needs a D.O.G. soon!










Baxter absolutely LOVED all the attention. He was well... a little slut to tell you the truth. He felt it necessary to be a 75lb lap dog.








Does this look comfortable to you? Yah, not so much.. but he thought nothing wrong with the situation....








His biggest obsession was with his Aunt Natalie. He HEARTS her more than anything...








Never mind the fact that she is like 30 weeks preggo.... He still felt it necessary to be RIGHT.ON.TOP of her. We think he was protecting little baby "Pedro." He pretty much did not want to leave her side. Now, I know how much he loves her.. but it definitely seemed different this time with a baby in her belly....

and I couldn't resist posting this one... Jeff thought my blue fuzzy slippers were the greatest thing ever. So great he wanted to try them on... He didn't so much remember that the next day..




Believe it or not we were actually pretty mellow for a Rocky Point trip. We had some great beach time, some fabulous grilled shrimp, and good laughs. All in all a nice, fun, put too quick of a trip!

I loooove the pics of Baxter in everyone's laps. My V. Leonard was doing the same thing this weekend. Needy City (but at the same time, so cute and endearing). Something only a Vizsla would do, for sure!

chahuahua's make better lap dogs. Well, better is a relative term. Not so much better as lighter. Doesn't hurt as much when they step on your nads....

It's been two months since Ironman CDA. The last Ironman CDA. It was a late registration for me.  After a couple stressful and busy years, I wasn't sure if I wanted to tackle another long event or take the year off. But, as per usual, as the training progressed so did my desire to race. About a week after I finally pulled the trigger and registered, the rumors started going around about it being the last year for the event in my favorite town. Denial at it's best, I didn't believe it. They still had another year on the contract so surely they would honor that.... It's been a while! I started this blog/journal to document training adventures for my first Ironman in 2007. It was a fun adventure and *back then* blogging was the social media of today. It connected me with so many special people that I met and continue to keep in contact with (albeit, not enough). Life got busy, training was more of a lifestyle then a new adventure and sharing my daily with the world became just, well irrelevant. While so much has changed since my last post, there is still a lot of the same. My love for swimming, biking and running, dogs and wine is still there, but my desire to keep pushing and find new boundaries has definitely faded. Coeur d'Alene Scenic Challenge

Relays are FUN. Seriously... no stress, just show up & do your part! I've done one relay before, in Mexico - I totally forgot how much fun they can be. The CDA triathlon is something I found on line a LONG time ago. I don't even know why I was looking at races in this area, because we had not started our plans to come here for the summer yet. Anyhow - I looked it up for this summer, and if happened to fall the week after Troika, what was supposed to be our 'A' race.... Had I only known..... So, still not wanting to give up on the race, I put out an "Ad" on Facebook looking for someone to join Shane & I for a team. My only thing - I was going to swim.
